On the 6th floor of a block-building with 9 levels, on the scenic route on the northern coast of Palermo, you will find the self-catering, romantic 130 mē apartment with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, spacious and comfortable living-dining room, independent full kitchen. Bright and sunny, it also offers outdoor living with its 3 panoramic flowery small terraces facing the sea, one of them equipped with large dining table for 4, another one equipped with a table for 2 persons. There is an elevator, reserved parking place in the courtyard with electrical gate. The apartment is centrally heated and air-conditioned, making it cosy and comfortable all year round, and is furnished with TV and telephone. It is a very comfortable base camp to visit Palermo, to visit Sicily.
The apartment is located at seaside, in a nice fishermen hamlet, halfway between Palermo and Mondello; the beach is the main attraction, as well as the old tonnara, just across the road. It is a 15th century complex, which has been widely transformed during the centuries; it has been a tuna fishing and processing plant until the 1950s, together with some other ones around Palermo and on the other coasts of Sicily. Afterwards, the building has been neglected for over 40 years. Now, it offers a charming good restaurant by the sea and, in summer, jazz concerts under the stars. There are several good restaurants in the area: the one just downstairs is favoured for his pizza, the other one across the road, offers a Mediterranean menu with a lot of ultra-fresh fish coming from the local fish market day by day. There are several food shops within just a few minutes. Frequent buses link the village to Palermo centre and to Mondello resort as well.
From the guest book: "This was our first trip to Sicily and we will certainly be coming back. We did quite a bit of searching for a suitable apartment and found something very special in this property. The apartment itself is very well decorated and furnished with everything you need, and more, to make your stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible, and we certainly made use of the balconies and views. There is an excellent Pizzeria downstairs as well as a very good Gelateria across the road. There are also several restaurants close by. Buses to Palermo and Mondello are both plentiful, cheap, and easy to use. There is also a good bakery and small shop within minutes of the apartment. The owners were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful, and the apartment is in a good location just opposite the beach. We would happily recommend this property to anyone. We had a lovely time and look forward to coming back. Many thanks." (The Marleys, May 2008)
