Set in a peaceful rural area with rolling hills and valleys, La Casita offers a magnificent view, both of the town of Ronda, which sits impressively atop an outcrop of rock, and of the mountains of the nearby natural parks of the Sierra de las Nieves and the Sierra de Grazalema. La Casita is a small two storey country house that has been renovated and extended with the aim of creating a comfortable space for visiting couples to relax and enjoy the beauty of the surrounding countryside Upstairs comprises the bedroom and bathroom, whilst downstairs is the open-plan kitchen / living room area. The house is fully equipped for bedding, bathroom linen, crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils.The front door opens onto a leafy terrace which offers both privacy and splendid views, an ideal place to sit and relax over a cool drink. Going down a few stone steps one finds a spacious patio with the use of a barbecue. The house is surrounded by lawns that offer both sun and shade. Behind the house, at about 30 metres distance, is a small swimming pool that is available for guests. Its use is shared with the owners. Parking space is also at hand.As its name suggests, La Casita de la Viña is situated in a zone once famous for its vineyards, some eight Kilometres north of the ancient fortress town of Ronda. This area of moorland and mountains, known as the Serrania de Ronda, is located to the north of the famous Costa del Sol (Marbella, Estepona, Fuengirola), and is a marvellous place for outdoor pursuits, particularly for walking and observing wildlife.The house is in the countryside about two kilometres from the nearest village, Arriate, in an area spattered with whitewashed country dwellings. The owners, who live nearby, will provide detailed information to guests on how to arrive.Ronda occupies a perfect position for visits to other Andalucian cities – Sevilla, Granada, Malaga and Cordoba.Apart from visiting the historic and monumental town of Ronda, there is a wide range of activities that can be practiced in the area, including hiking, horse riding, cycling, rock climbing, bird watching, painting and photography. We will be happy to provide guests with more information or put them in contact with organisers, guides etc.There are excellent restaurants, tapas bars and shopping facilities in Ronda, and these are perfectly complemented by the offer of the nearby villages of Arriate, Los Prados and Setenil de las Bodegas; a village which features the curiosity of a splendid tapas bar carved into the side of a cliff.At the turn of the twentieth century the filoxera plague devastated regional wine production but nowadays, once again, first class, award winning wines are being produced and sold by local vineyards and cellars such as the nearby Las Monjas, which is open to visitors. |
