Large well-equipped and furnished Dutch (former) farmhouse dating from 1890 located in centre of peaceful Diever village. Guests have exclusive use of the front farmhouse which adjoins the owners property. The house is entirely self contained with two entrances for full privacy.Diever village, located at the south-westerly tip of the province of Drenthe (approx. 2 hrs north-east of Amsterdam), is adjacent to one of the largest forests in the Netherlands - perfect for walking, cycling and horse riding.
Also renowned for its Shakespearian plays held in the open-air theatre during the Summer months, Diever is at the heart of unspoilt rural Dutch countryside.
Among many near attractions, Emmen Zoo, Gnomeland, Giethoorn (the Venice of the Netherlands), and the towns of Hoogeveen (20 minutes), Assen (25 minutes), Emmen (45 minutes) and the city of Groningen (40 minutes) are easily accessible.
During July/August you can take one of the 3 forest buses which wind their way 6 days a week through 14 of the small local villages.
A Dutch National Tourist office is also nearby with a wealth of information on the surrounding area.Diever is easily accessible fron both Amsterdam Schiphol (2 hours) and Groningen Eelde (30 minutes) airports. A car is recommended (rental cars also available at both airports), although public transport (bus) just a few minutes walk away with links to the surrounding villages and towns. Nearest train station at Beilen (20 minutes away) with direct services to Groningen (30 minutes) and Amsterdam Airport (2 hours).
