Number 88 is an attractive Andalucian style cottage or small house in a mature rural country location with its own private sunny garden beside swimming pools, tennis courts and golf course. This is a marvellous place for families. You will have the kind of summer fun our weather here in the UK rarely permits. However, you do need to be prepared to live like the Spanish. They love to enjoy to the full those heavenly summer nights under the stars which seem never ending in Spain. Basically, why go all the way to Spain for the weather just to go to bed early? Have a fun day at the beach or pools or whatever but allow time for a siesta in the heat between about 3 - 5pm. Now you are ready to enjoy the evening and later the night at a perfect temperature for dining outside at a local restaurant or in the garden at 88. We have soft garden lighting hidden in shrubs and one near the large table. Alternatively you could eat and drink beside the swimming pools a few yards away. Our own licensed bar serves some tasty meals and ice cold drinks. There is also a bar and restaurant within walking distance on the estate plus the air conditioned golf club which serves food and drink and has a huge TV. Casas Andaluzas now has about 20 British owners and the remainder are Spanish who are very friendly and love children. All the facilities are private and for the use of people staying at Casas Andaluzas only. They are free for you because we pay the annual community charges. A trained life saving guard is on duty at all times while the swimming pools are open. We have tennis rackets and balls at the house plus a football and a basketball. The 8th and 9th tees of the 18 hole golf course are only 200 metres walk from the house! At the house all bedrooms have a cooling fan. Principal bedroom has an excellent double bed. Second bedroom has twin singles. These rooms share a lovely new shower room. The third bedroom is on the first floor via garden stairs. It has twin beds and an en-suite shower room. It also has a large terrace overlooking the pools, tennis and countryside. It is the first choice for teenagers or guests. The kitchen has 2 fridges with freezer compartments, auto washing machine, full gas cooker, second worktop oven/grill, kettle, toaster, etc. One full gas bottle is provided which fires a gas water heater giving continuous hot water. Electricity is provided. The sitting room / dining room has a large open fire for cosy evenings out of summer. The TV will play your DVDs but not receive signals. This will help you to forget about the worries of the world and make your holiday more relaxing. There is a good CD,radio/cassette player. Sheets, duvet covers and towels are provided. Take your own swimming towels for the pools and beach. Well trained obedient pets are allowed. The garden has a lockable gate and is secure for children and dogs.
Casas Andaluzas consists of about one hundred individually styled cottages each with private balconies, terraces and small gardens all set in woodland of mature umbrella pines and eucalyptus trees. The communal gardens and paths are maintained daily by gardeners. The cottages are located in a secluded corner of a large golfing estate known as San Andres Golf and Club de Golf Campano.
The swimming pools are securely fenced and set in a spacious area of lawns, palm trees and pines. They are open from mid June until mid September. However, the magnificent uncrowded beaches are only 10 minutes by car with a choice of huge open sands or small secluded coves. There is a flavour of real Spain at Casas Andaluzas and in the area generally. Casas Andaluzas has a small licenced bar run by a charming Spanish couple who work hard to provide fresh snack meals, cold drinks, sweets, icecreams, freshly baked baguettes daily, etc. It is here that you ask if you wish to play tennis after dark by floodlights. One of the courts has basket ball nets and five a side football goals.
A hire car is essential for shopping and to see the area. At 2kms excellent shopping is available in the local village which also provides banking, petrol, restaurants, etc.
At 10 minutes by car is the town of Chiclana de la Frontera. This town has everything from an excellent fresh market to a huge hypermarket, from an indoor sports and swimming centre to an Atlantic water sport centre, from riding to championship golf, from MacDonalds to 5 star hotels and from ancient bodegas to modern bars. This area has so much to offer that it is becoming popular with those wishing to start a new life in an area that is very Spanish and unspoiled yet has world class services.
There is so much to do and see that it is not possible to do it all in one holiday. However, try to visit Jerez, Cadiz, Sevilla, Vejer, Gibraltar and Morocco.
There are 4 possible airports to choose from - Jerez, Sevilla, Gibraltar and Malaga.
Many Brits (like us) have started their love affair with Spain at Casas Andaluzas. We hope you may be the next? |
