Le Pressior a Cidre - a restored 'Longère'
Le Pressoir a Cidre is an attractive Longere, constructed in stone. The Longere was built approx 1860.
Le Pressoir a Cidre is situated in the hamlet of Coz Castel, which is a small cluster of houses set in a typical French Hamlet. The attractive town of Huelgoat is 5 mins away. There you will find bars, créperie, restaurants and shops. The pretty town square has 2 boulangeries/patisseries, a charcuterie and a small supermarket where you can buy fresh fish. The square is a nice place to sit in the sun with a coffee or something stronger and watch the world go by. There is also a beautiful lake where you can sit by and have a drink or something to eat. There are numerous restaurants and creperies to suit all tastes and budgets. The town of Huelgoat is a pretty town with a lovely market square and large lake, and is famous for its giant granite boulders and woodlands. It is situated within the Park Regional D'Amorique. The forest next to the town is said to be where King Arthur's treasure is buried. A pleasant network of trails take walkers past caves, menhirs, unusual geographical formations, including the precariously named Trembling Rock, and past abandoned lead and silver mines. Maps and leaflets are available from the pretty tourist office in the town. The town offers a range of bars, créperie & restaurants, shops (charcuterie, boulangeries, pharmacies, paper & book shops with English papers, supermarkets,) and has a market on Thursdays offering a wide range of foods and local specialities. There is also a well known botanic garden, a centre for local honey, a public open air pool, Tennis courts. Art exhibitions and equestrian events are also held in the town.
